Anxiety disorders are the most common psychiatric illnesses that affect both children and adults. It is estimated that approximately 19 million adult Americans suffer from anxiety disorders. Anxiety disorders are highly treatable, yet only about one-third of those suffering from an anxiety disorder receive treatment. Anxiety Disorders include:
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder
- Panic Disorder
- Phobias
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Social Phobia
I use a variety of cognitive-behavioral and relaxation techniques to help his clients conquer anxiety. Often therapy alone can be very beneficial to help clients learn how to control their anxiety. However, sometimes medication may be appropriate to as sist clients get a firmer grip on their anxiety, in some cases you may be referred to a physician for medication.
